MANUKA HONEY GRADING SYSTEMS

It’s important to pay special attention to which grading system is on the Manuka Honey label. If you don’t, you might just end up wasting your money on low-grade but overpriced Manuka Honey.

The most common grading systems you’ll see for Manuka Honey are UMF, MGO, K Factor and BioActive. These different grading systems measure different components of Manuka Honey. It can be confusing, but the important thing to know is that only the UMF and MGO systems measure the antibacterial strength of Manuka Honey.
